Not defending her at all....but, I don't always trust those time stamps b/c it might depend on time zones and such too.  Looking at your bubble it says you were last active at 2:32, but it's 3:30 here.

One plausible reason for the bubble being visible is if she was really online and then the nurses/doctors/whomever got her involved with something else, her SIL's pc might just be sitting there on a chair or the foot of the bed (idle and on this site).

Which is why I checked out her bubble. The posts are always right on track with my time zone. It's 338 here.
