BOB vs Bumbleride - If $$$ were not an issue

So I got my Carter's refund and have some cash stashed in my "baby fund" so I decided I'm going to splurge and buy a new stroller.  I can't decide which one though!   DH wan't one that handles dirt/rock trails so he likes the BOB Sport Utility and I want something good for the grocery store and other outings, plus I love the looks of the Bumbleride.

What are your thoughts, any pros or cons you can think of?

Re: BOB vs Bumbleride - If $$$ were not an issue

  • We're getting the BOB revolution duallie - we tested it and it's very manuverable and a few people at the store told me it does alright for shopping, etc. It also fits through doorways (I tried it).
  • I can't say anything about the Bumbleride because I have never seen one in person, but we have the BOB revolution and I LOVE It.  The boys are always comfortable in it and it is great for walks, the park, the zoo, and even in the grocery stores.  It is heavy so it is a pain to lift in and out of the car, but if DH is with me it is the only stroller he takes to the grocery store.  If I am on my own I sometimes take the lighter one, but it is SO much easier to shop with because it is much more maneuverable.  It is the one thing that I have splurged on and I do not regret it.  Just this weekend I told my H it was the single best baby purchase we have made.

    Good luck.

  • I love love love my bumbleride! It is awesome and SO pretty! It is super easy to steer and super comfy for the girls. This is going to sound REALLY stupid but the thing I didn't like about the BOB was the fact that it had only 1 wheel in front. I though somehow it is not going to be as stable. Which is totally not true, but I wanted 4 wheels :) Anyways, the only thing about bumbleride (i don't know if it is true for BOB or not) but it does not fold compactly. It takes up 2/3 of the trunk in my CRV, but if trunk space was not an issue I would say deffinitelly go for it. Oh and also we took it on quite a few paths that were not at all paved or smooth, and the Bumbleride did really well, it has inflatable tires.?

  • Re: trunk and folding up - this was HUGE for us. We have a 2001 maxima and a 96 altima and wanted to avoid getting a new car if we could - the BOB fits in our trunks! It does take up most of the room, but not ever double stroller would fit, so that was important. It does get pretty flat folded up.
  • I love my Bumbleride, though agree it is very bulky and takes up 90% of my trunk. It is great for Target, grocery stores, the mall, walks, the park, etc. I also love the colors Bumbleride has, over the BOB strollers.
  • I have the BOB and we were down to that and the bumbleride when we were deciding.  The only thing that won out the BOB (I also thought the bumbleride was much better looking) was that it was meant for exercise/hiking/jogging which we planned to do a lot of.

If you take off the wheels on the BOB (which is relatively quick and easy) it's much smaller when folded.  Otherwise it takes almost my entire trunk of my SUV.  I don't usually take it to the store unless I walk there (which I do often).  I like it a lot, but it definitely couldn't be our only stroller due to size/weight/practicality issues.

  • If you have a second stroller, what do you have besides the BOB?  Just a couple of umbrella strollers or something else?
  • I was deciding between the same two myself, and ended up going with the BOB. My only reason for liking the Bumbleride was the look of it (and the cute color combos), but when I checked them out in person, the BOB won hands down. The guy at my local upscale baby shop sold me on the BOB, even though it was less expensive. It's just soooo easy to maneuver and fold, etc. Mine should be arriving on Thursday. Can't wait!
  • my vote is for the BOB Rev. Duallie. We use this for everything!! love it! turns on a dime!
  • we love love love looooooove our BOB. ?we have the revolution dualie 12" AW; it's our only stroller. ?i never had a SNG b/c my babies were too tiny and in the nicu and we never took them out b/c of rsv season after their nicu stay. ?i have NEVER met a doorway that it doesn't fit through and NEVER met a surface that it doesn't glide over effortlessly. ?you can steer it with one finger...i can answer my cell phone, while holding a hot starbucks, while pushing the stroller...
