Mini-meltdown on the way home from our failed pool playdate.

I just had one.

It took forever to get everything gathered, DS and myself sunblocked and all ready to go this morning.

We get to the friend's pool (about 15-20 min away), step in, and DS says it's too cold and refuses to go back in.  I tell him fine ... to sit in the chair by his friends and just talk.  He refuses, says he wants to go home and goes and sits by our bags.  I go and sit with him and wait maybe 5 min or so and then I just decide to leave.  Then it's the whole process of getting everything gathered and getting us back home.

On the way home I cried on the phone to DH about this.  I know it's just the pgcy.  I've been way too emotional lately.

This happen to anyone else at the end of their second pgcy?

  • This is just me (so keep that in mind), but I wouldn't have left to go back home because he was suddenly over the playdate. DS would've had to make the best of the situation for a while.

I would have normally done the same, but I just didn't feel like dealing with it.  A few wasps were also flying around where our stuff was (and where DS was) and it made me a little nervous.

  • Chalk it up to the hormones then :)  Grab yourself a beverage and put your feet up. Let DS play with his toys.
