Ugh, I hate Solicitors that ignore my NO SOLICITING sign

I don't understand why they STILL come up to our door and ring our doorbell when I have this BIG (homemade) NO SOLICITING sign front and center on my door. What part of it do they not understand?

Am I missing something here? b/c when I wave at them no and point to my No Soliciting sign, some would say to me "I'm not soliciting".... I fall for it, open the door and sure enough, he/she's asking for some money.

Should my sign be more specific? :-(

Thx for listening to my vent.

  • Hmmm...you could be like me - unplug the doorbell and don't answer the door if anyone knocks.

  • Ugggh!  You are kidding?!?!?  Are they just so dense that they do not know what "soliciting" means?  "I'm not here to socialize."...

Can you ask for their "manager" or company info so you can report them?  (As long as they aren't girl scouts or s'thing...)

  • I'd add to it:  "If you are asking me for money, a donation of any kind, or selling something --- this means YOU!  I will prosecute."

    ;)

Nobody said life would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it.

  • Ugh, that's annoying!

  • maybe they don't know what soliciting means...

You can ask to see their permit. If they don't have one, call the cops.

You also could put a sign up that says "please do not disturb", and the only people that will ignore the sign (hopefully) are the ones you are expecting. I'd warn them about the sign first though ;)?
