Is your DH a nurse? You have me scared to death since i'm going to school now to becme a nurse. I heard there is no longer a shortage in the Tri-State area, so I guess that is true - I was hoping it was more of a rumor!
Also are you a pharmacist at Christ hosp? I think one of my old friends works with you and his dad is a pharmacist there.

**butting in**
My mom is a nurse and recently changed jobs (due to the big St. E / St. L merger) and has had an AWFUL time... she found and took a job (but it's not what she wants to be doing and it pays crappy)... anyway... there just aren't many RN openings out there and what is there is being filled internally. It's never been like this before... not in the 30 years my mom has been an RN anyway.
A big part of it is the economy... 1) no one is having any medical stuff done that isn't 100% necessary... no more elective stuff... less patients = less staff and 2) when people are short on cash medical bills are one of the first things people let go so revenue is down that way too.
Hopefully things are better when you get done with school.

ETA: sorry I'm such a Debbie Downer... I just wanted to give you a heads up... my mom is a NICU/special care nursery RN....
Small world! I do work at Christ--who do you know?
DH is a nurse. Here is the story--he is having a hard time because he has less than a year experience. If he had that year he would have had a job by now. He wants ER or ICU so that makes it even harder. He is willing to take a job anywhere though. My advice, if you can, get a PCA job somewhere while in school so they are more likely to hire you at graduation. He has made his rounds at most of the hospital grps in the city and his options are limited due to that. Long story about all of that--if you want to know email me (angela.haskell@gmail.com) There is a pharmacy tech I work with that is graduating from nursing school this spring and is also having a heck of a time finding a job. I'd love to say there isn't a standstill in Cincy but there is. Health Alliance (esp Univ) is on a modified hiring freeze as well. Best of luck! Please email me for more information..there are some stories behind his situation too.
I know Chris Roll. isn't his dad a pharmacist there and he is a tech?
I do plan on getting a PCA job but right now I make a lot more on unemployment and unfortunately we have to go with where the money is right now. Plus since my job was sent to India I can get half of my tution paid for. Sucks that I want to work as a PCA but I get more by not working.
oh and I was at my moms house yesterday and unable to post but your maternity pics are beautiful and I hope you don't mind me saying but your DH is very nice looking
