Married on 3.20.2004. It took 30 month, 2 failed adoptions and IVF for our first miracle. We have had 9 foster kids since he was born and started the domestic adoption process when he was 10 month old, we had 4 failed matches in that time. After our daughter was born we brought her home and spent 2 weeks fearing we might lose her because of complications that came up. But Praise God all went through and she is ours forever! Expecting again after IVF
I ran around cleaning for the entire week and when my SW came she sat in a chair for most of the visit and looked at the spare room, and had a peak at my granny who was sleeping. So just relax, we expect them to go through our homes with a fine-tooth comb but they usually don't. I know mine didn't. So just relax and try to breathe. You will be fine. Good luck to you.
I have the same advice as the other girls. Relax and be yourself. It really is a lot easier then your head makes it out to be. The SW wants to place a child in your home...not keep one out.
We just started our home visits a couple of weeks ago - and it went fine. I cleaned and primped and had out snacks and everything.
My SW laughed (not in a mean way) and thought it was amusing.
2 years TTC with 5 losses, 1 year recovering, 6 months applying for adoption approval, and almost a year waiting for a placement. Then, a miracle BFP at age 36!
Re: 1st Homestudy is FRIDAY

You'll be fine. I know everyone says this and you can't believe it but ... it really is easier than you imagine it being.
Good luck!
