Feeding Tube / Reflux Haters Club - Call to order!

::bangs gavel::

Hear ye! Hear ye!  One and all!

I proclaim today this day after a lovely Mothers Day that Cameron and Evan have successfully taken 24 hours of feedings by pump in the G tube!  And I am also excited to announce that Cameron even took about one ounce of formula or water by a BOTTLE!  It's his first attempt at a bottle since February.

Evan wasn't interested in putting the bottle to his mouth, but he does greatly enjoy water from a spoon, slurps it up like a little bird.

Tell me about your reflux baby's success this week!!  I need to hear that everyone else has had some good things happen too.

  • Ha! You're hilarious - and what a fantastic report sweety!

    All I got is that I accidently left Jaxon's G-port closed for 3+ hrs and he didn't vomit more/less at that time :) So maybe he can start holding more in his belly? No clue, but it was a nice surprise :)

    LOVE that your boys are doing better - you have no idea what hope that gives me...seriously about to cry.?

    That's really great news actually!  All our success just recently started out of the blue and it began with the tube adjustment and progressed to keeping them off the farrell bags / venting their stomachs to see how much they threw up on their own.  When that wasn't so bad for a week our GI said it was time to push them a little and feed them by tube for at least a 24hour period.  If it didn't work, no problem, but if it did then we move forward to the next thing. Jax has probably grown so much that his tummy is ready for the next challenge.  And I think the stomach has to be challened a little or how else will it learn to take more, strech, digest things it's not used to, etc?  Keep at it.  That you were able to keep it closed and not vented with more/less no vomiting is a very huge deal.  Yaaaay!
