I use an electric fry pan. Works so much better/easier. But I make them probably once a week. I make a double batch and freeze them. It's all the girls will eat for breakfast - or almost all - so I have them on hand. Flip them when you start to see the bubbles on top.
I LOVE my non-stick electric griddle for this! Even if you don't have/get one, ditto the PP about flipping them when you start to see bubbles on the top.
My kids eat at least 20 pancakes a week (not including weekends) -- that's a lot of flippin' pancakes ;-) I make huge batches, semi-homemade (Krusteaz mix, add water, apple sauce & bananas) & then freeze them for the week.
Ditto the pp's about flipping when you see bubbles on top. I use a regular non-stick pan & the key is to not have the pan too hot. I start it on medium, but lower the temp after I make about half of them. I've also learned that having a really good spatula to flip the pancakes is key. I love the silicon one I have from W&S.
