I put pieces of frozen apple in there and DD loves it. It's like a teether for her. i tried a banana but she didn't like it. I think she just doesn't like bananas though.
I mostly use it for "snack" kind of times. Not meals.
But I've put bananas, peaches, apple slices, things like that. Fresh fruit mostly. I like giving her some fruit in her mesh feeder after dinner so it gives me a few minutes to clean up after supper while she's in her high chair with that.
I also LOVE it for ice chips for times if her gums are bothering her.
Watermelon (SO messy but he loved it!), cantaloupe, pear slices, frozen grapes, ice cubes, banana (plan on throwing away the bag after this one)... Sometimes I'll use things he's had before, like pears, but I'll also use the mesh feeder as his first intro to the food, like melon.
Someone suggested on here to put those biter biscuits in there, so I tried, but it sucked! It still got crumbs everywhere, and it turned into a gross paste and DD got grossed out by it.
I would like some ideas as well, I've heard frozen fruits are good too, but the idea of smeared strawberries leaking out and being smeared through the entire kitchen sounds terrifying to me!
Strawberries were a big hit here! We've tried almost everything, green beans, strawberries, bananas, peaches, pears, apples are just a few. It's easier to buy the fruit cups and put the already diced fruit in the mesh thing. It's hard to find the fruit in their own juices ILO syrup though ( GL!
