We just booked our trip to Disney for October (great price btw)

I have been a bunch of times but never with children.  We are staying at the all Stars Movie Resort.  So I need some tips and pointer.  What you did that you liked or din't like.  What made your trip easier and harder.  We are also doing the Mickeys Not So scary Halloween party is it ok for a 3 and 2 year old?

  • Whooo HoOOO.  I love Disney.  We go every year and dd loves it.  We are going August 1st this year and staying at the Wilderness Lodge.  I've stayed all over the properties.  I've never done the Not So Scary party because I'm back at school.  But I did leave last year after they had done all the decorations for it and it looked beautiful.  You'll want to book any character meals 90 days out because they do book fast.  We love doing those with dd because she gets to see the characters and it keeps her entertained while we eatBig Smile.  They also have maps that highlight rides/attractions for preschool age kids, you'll want to get a copy.  Your kids will have so much fun!!!
  • Yay! ?How fun! ? We are going in August b/c Hailey starts school 8/24. ?It'll be mine and the kids first time going. ?I know we are staying at Port Orleans and doing at least one character meal. ?I also know that we want to do the bippity boppity boutique. I heard its great. ? Hailey wants to ride the tea cups, not sure what else we will do...

  • Great ages for Disney and you'll love going in October. I live in Orlando and I love doing the parks in October. Since I live here I don't have any tips on what to do to make traveling here easier, but I will say just go with the flow and try not to do too much. You'll have a great time!
  • I have to say I am jealous! We went last year in Oct. and it was beyond great! I am ready to go back! Our DS was almost 2 and my nieces were 4. we had so much fun. We didn't pay the extra to do the not so scary halloween, but from the looks of things it would have been a ton of fun! There were Pumpkin Mickey's everywhere and cute halloween stuff! We stayed off property but some days still went back and had a nap for a few hours! One thing I would say is to take snacks with you if you can! the food is not cheap there and on the days we took light snacks with us the kids did better throughout the day. We also looked at schedules in advance for fireworks at Disney and Epcot and planned around that. We also used the fast passes. a few of us would stand in one line and send someone else to get the fast passes for other rides. They are great if you can get them and plan somewhat around that. We also tried to do the indoor shows in the heat of the day.....Mickey's Philharmagic at Magic kingdom was amazing! My best piece of advice though it to go with the flow! It is a bit overwhelming at times but so worth it. i can't tell you how many nights we put PJ's on the kids before we left the park and then carried them in to bed when we got back! You will have so much fun! Seeing it through your children's eyes is beyond magical!!
