Baby Names

Honest opinion needed

Chloe has been my favorite name for a girl my entire life, but now that's it's becoming so poular I'm not sure if I should stay away from it.

My DH and I both really like the name Bodie (pronounced Bo-dee).  Our last name starts with a B and has an "ow" as in ouch sound.  I just picture our little blond girl (if we have a girl).

I know it's a little out there....please give your honest opinion.  No hurt feelings here!

Yes, it has been traditionally used as a male name.  Some might remember the olympic skier froma few years ago, Bode Miller.

  • I don't like it, it doesn't seem feminine at all.  I absolutely love Chloe.

  • Not a fan of Bodie. I am not sure about how it would sound with B-ow like last name, either.

  • Go with Chloe.  Not only have you loved it for a long time but it will sound better with your last name.

We're using the name Emma even though it was just announced as the most popular name last year.  Emma was my greatgrandmother's name and I've loved it my whole life too.  DH and his brother both have very popular names.  Although it's a little annoying in grade school, neither of them hate having a common name

I don't care for Bodie.  I love Chloe and think you should use it if you love it, regardless of how popular it is.
  • I don't like Bodie at all, sorry!

I think Bodie Miller who is a world class skiier but maybe thats only because I live in NH. My grandma had a friend (girl) with this name.

    Ditto?

  • I think Chloe is a pretty name. I only know of one personally. Bodie is definitely a boy's name that to me doesn't sound remotely feminine. If you want a twist on Chloe, what about Zoe, Phoebe or Sylvie? All the name blogs I read say Sylvie is the new Sophie, but is still several years off from being remotely popular. :) Good luck!
  • don't do it. chloe while popular is STILL better :)
  • personally I wouldn't choose either. :( Bodie does sound masculine and Chloe is really popular. Also there are way too many dogs named Chloe. Good luck
