  • It is probably due to Jacoby Ellsbury, a Red Sox Player. He's really good and super cute. He is part Native American.

    It's our friend's last name and they pronounce it like that too.  Although it's often mispronounced as Jacob-bee

  • Jacobe (pronounced the same as Jacoby/Jacobi) is a family surname for me and high on my list for a mn if we ever have a boy.

    I had a student last year named Jacoby. It was pronounced Juh co bee. He was such a sweetie, and I really like the name.

    couldn't agree more. i think it's not even the pronunciation that is so bad (although definitely nms) but the look of it. it looks like someone just decided to spice up jacob with the ever-trendy random Y. i don't like it at all.

  • I worked at a hospital with this name. It is the surname of a famous pediatrician "the father of modern pediatirics" actually, But spelled (Abraham) Jacobi.
