DD#2 is 3 months and I would like to wean her from her swaddle. It is just not working that well anymore. It does help her sleep great at night (usually about 10-11hrs) but she is super long and the small sized SwaddleMes crunch her legs up and I can't get the larger size snug enough around her body. And with either one, her hands inevitably worm their way up to her face anyway.
So...what age did you stop swaddling, how did you transition or did you go cold turkey and how did it go?
Re: How did you stop swaddling and at what age?
I'm not really any help. Both of my kids hated the swaddle after the newborn days, and busted out by themselves at about 4-6 weeks.
So I guess that's cold turkey.
Both of them are belly sleepers, so there was none of the arm-jerking that would wake them up.

See DD#1 loved to sleep on her tummy, too, but #2 hates to be on her tummy, asleep or awake.
Edit: Oops, quoted the wrong poster!
Both of my kids hated the swaddle and were breaking free before we left the hospital. Since they were fine without it I never really did it. But if your DC likes to be swaddled there is this option as well

They carry extra big swaddling blankets.......
