Night 1 without the paci isn't going so great

IG's been whining for about 20 minutes, half asleep, for her pacifier.

 She won't cuddle with her lovey or with my handle or my hair...instead, she's picking her scabs.

Her therapist said not to take it away till she's ready and I thought maybe she was.

Would you give the paci back or not?

How old is she?  Did the therapist bother to mention how you'd know if she's ready?  99% of kids would resist giving it up, so how do you know if she's not ready or just resisting?

She's 3.  She can't self soothe and the therapist said when she is better able to self soothe, she should be ready to give up the paci.

I'm mean and just took A's from her. She was fine after a week or so. I just gave her other things she could chew on.

Yeah but Iler's inability to calm down is what makes me nervous.  She's still picking at her scabby knees...and she's mostly asleep.
