Need some food feedback for DD's party :)

DD's party is Saturday afternoon and I'm going out tomorrow to buy everything else I will need for it. Since I am not a cook, even a little bit, we are getting Subway party subs.

So....we will have about 25 people. I am going to have the subs, then pasta salad, fruit salad, and ice cream cake. Soda, beer, and water.

What else? I am thinking either chips and dip or veggies and dip? Or both? It will be at 12:30 so definitely lunchtime. Any cooler ideas besides those? Anything else I should add?

TIA :).

  • I tend to over prepare so I would say chips & dip & veggie's & dip! ?Both sound yummy to me! ?If I was only going to go with one I would say the chips & dip, you can do potato chips & pretzels with the same dip.

  • I think what you have planned sounds great.  I vote for veggies and dip over chips.  You could maybe add a hot appetizer like skyline dip or buffalo dip but it surely isn't necessary.

  • I would just get veggies & dip and then just plain chips.

  • I would say Skyline chili dip as well..or the buffalo chicken dip. Or reuben spread. Orhhh.. Krogers makes this awesome dip its Jarslberg cheese dip! It is so good!
  • I love having parties and I love to cook/bake so I always have to much food. But I also think that it is better to have more food than not enough food. I would have plain chips/pretzels and the veggies with dip. You could put those out before hand so people have something to munch on while standing around chatting. What you have for lunch/early dinner sounds great. I would also have something hot, but that's just me. It is totally not necessary. I would just make baked beans in the crockpot. They are so yummy!! Anybody can make them. You can make them the night before and then put them in the crockpot to heat up. I can tell you how if you want. Have fun with your party and Happy 1st Birthday to Leah!!
  • Your menu sounds similar to ours for DD's party... we had meat and cheese trays from Kroger's for sandwiches, chips, veggies and dip, fruit and cream cheese dip, cheese and crackers, meatballs in the crockpot, cake and ice cream. (I tend to over prepare on food, just in case...) we had almost every guest in attendance, so the extra food came in handy.

Maybe add vegs and dip and some chips, which most of our guests snacked on with the fruit as appetizers?

Have so much fun!! Madelyn's party was such a great memory for us. Happy early 1st bday to Leah!!
