Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Jealous of those losing baby weight!!!

Okay, dh is six months old and I still haven't lost all my baby weight.  I gained 60 during the pregnancy and have lost 45 of it...so I'm getting there.  Well, we saw my SIL last weekend and her baby is 4 months old.  And she's already skinny again.  And she's had three kids!!  It's a little embarrassing, I need to get my but in gear.  I hate feeling jealous, but I kind of am!

I still have over 20 pounds to lose 9gained over 50). It's coming off slowly for me. My sis-in-law had #3 last month and is skinnier now than ever before! But, I'm healthy (she isn't) and I'm working on it. It's tougher for some than others.

  • Don't worry about it. Like everyone says, it took you 9 months to put it on, so give yourself at least 9 months to take it off.

After dd was born I was 10lbs heavier that my pp weight. After ds I was 15lbs heavier that my pp weight. Now ds is 13 months old and I just lost all of the weight before his 1st b-day.

I ate 100 calories for breakfast, sensible lunch, 100 calorie snack, sensible dinner and a bottle of water before bed. (still am by the way)

My mom is doing this right now and has lost 20lbs already. Try it, it might work.

Sounds like you are normal and healthy.

I lost weight thanks to PPD and food tasting like dirt.  IMO better to be fat and happy.  You have nothing to be embarassed about, you have lost a lot of weight!  Most women are never happy with their weight.  Even the skinny ones.

  • Kellogs 90 calorie bars, sometimes dry cereal. Lately I have been having Nutrigrain bars and they are about 140 calories. I do get sick of eating the same thing over and over.

  • I gained 40 pounds while pregnant, plus I was 10 pounds over "desired" weight when I got KU.  I didn't lose the 40 pounds until DS was 8 months old, and I just lost the extra 10 pounds in the past few weeks.

I did it slowly and I'm really healthy.  I did Weight Watchers since the summer (taking a big break for the holidays!) and it really works.  It's not hard, and I never felt like I was starving myself.  I took walks but otherwise I didn't do "hard" exercise.

GL! And congrats - 45 pounds is great!!

Hey all! I am soon starting a new fitness program at home as I was cleared by my doc FINALLY to start working out! I, too, am definitely looking to connect w/other new moms as well. I would love to get a group of 6-8 moms together to join my online private motivation group. Think of it like an accountability support group where positive attitudes and encouragement are available and NO negativity is allowed! I've lead a group like this before, and found that people have much better results(no matter what their goals) when they have the support of a small group of positive people. There will be NO crazy dieting, and you choose the types of workouts and schedule that works best for you and is okay with your doctor. Just focus on supporting each other to create and stick to our goals, and BE HEALTHY. I'd like everyone in the group to be new moms (who are cleared by their docs!) to start incorporating fitness into their daily lives after having a baby. Sound like you?

If you are interested or know someone who might be, please have them shoot me a message!

  • Don't stress about it. I gained 70 with my LO, and I didn't start really seeing it come off until the 6 month mark. Now, she is 10 months, and I am back to "normal". It just takes time. And, once they are active and moving, you will be chasing! :)
