Adoption

NRAR (Not remotely adoption related :) )

Can you tell that my focus is off in other places this evening!

?

I was just wondering if anyone else on this board enjoys mindless drivel television like America's Next Top Model? Anyone? Anyone? Gossip Girl anyone?

  • Not those, but I love Real Housewives of NYC!
  • I'm a loyal watcher of American Idol.  And I think Millionaire Matchmaker is priceless.

And I subscribe to USWeekly - does that count?  Smile

2 years TTC with 5 losses, 1 year recovering, 6 months applying for adoption approval, and almost a year waiting for a placement. Then, a miracle BFP at age 36!

I love America's Next Top Model.  I watch American Idol and Millionaire Matchmaker, too. And I'm ashamed to admit it, but I liked Rock of Love, too!

Yes, if it's a bad show, I'm probably watching it...

  • She is this yenta (no really!) who runs this "millionaire club" for men and women who are looking for love. She basically screens a bunch of people for the millionaires to meet based on their..wants and interests (looks, what they are into etc) so they don't have to really waste as much time looking for love. But you have to have at least a million dollars to be a member.

She's really blunt with the members and the potential daters and there are rules..like everyone has to be a gentleman/woman. You can kiss, but not too much tongue as she says...no sex on the first date and she has good reasons why not..one pair of daters broke that rule and the whole match got all screwed up..and she totally called them out on it! She yelled at the girl for putting out too early, and then called the guy and told him he was schmuck! It's kind of interesting b/c the show has some very traditional undertones in the modern world.

    She's a third generation yenta.

And honestly if you aren't watching Gossip Girl..you are seriously missing out. Yes, yes, it's about high schoolers...but they are so barely ?in high school you don't even think about that. When you see Chuck Bass wearing a pink bow tie and somehow pulling it off or Blair Waldorf and her headbands scheming about this or that...it's just really good. I think it's funny, the writing is really good.

My other guilty television pleasure that is coming back next month: True Blood. I'm not ashamed. ;D ?

  • I watched Make Me a Super Model or some garbage yesterday (you all have to save me from soaps and mindless tv during the day while Grant is sleeping).

This girl was thin but not thin enough and it was all drama over her ALREADY THIN body being too fat. Then one of the guys was not big and bulky enough. Give me a break.

  • Oh I love me some Make Me a Supermodel. They finally kicked off the one girl I could NOT stand last night--Aman--duh..."Like, I wanna be really like, good, like so that like I can like be like a role model like for my son that I like had like 2 months ago."

    Another great show!
