Shower mini-drama

Many of you read my previous post a few days ago about not having a shower because of some family issues and the fact that baby showers aren't a big thing in my tradition. MIL wrote me a long email today asking why and basically insisting that my mom and aunt throw me one.

It's a nice thought from her but um, if she wants me to have one that bad couldn't she take the time to host it? Or am I being semi selfish?

    Coercing someone else to throw you a shower is never the way to go.  You are right, if she wants you to have a shower so badly, she can host it.  Nothing selfish about this.

    ditto pps. ?If showers are not something your family normally does, then MIL needs to do it herself and not expect someone else to take care of it.
