GAH is there a secret to removing straps?

in Parenting
from car seats/high chairs/etc? ?You know the kind where you have to work the rectangular thingamabob through the slot? ?It seems like it would work easily, especially slipping it through lengthwise, but the seam on the strap always makes it extra tight and IMPOSSIBLE. ? I have been trying since yesterday afternoon, working up a sweat and teaching ML all kinds of new curse words. ?Trying to adjust the crotch strap on her new car seat. ?Is there a secret???

    this is why I love my britax Blvd.   the straps are adjusted by turning a knob.

    Oh this is just the crotch strap; it's attached via the classic rectangle through the slot. ?The rest is adjustable via a button.

    ugh I have no secret....dh's seat is the old fashion threading of straps....huge PITA!  what were these manufactorers (sp) thinking?

    They are a PITA to come out... but if I remember right, DS's pumpkin seat had pics and instructions in the manual. It was something extremely simple...but I can't remember. sorry, I'm no help.

    On ours, you twist it sideways so that the thin profile of the strap goes into the slot.

    I would check to see if there's a manual online.
