DH and I cannot find a common girl name we both really like. I caught myself starting to compromise today, and I don't want to!! I am looking for some new ideas. I have done all the various website - wizard, etc, and get the same stuff over and over it seems. So I am hoping you could help...
My taste:
Megan, Elizabeth, Alison, Lauren, Anna
His taste:
(A)Lana, Sydney, Alexis, Caitlyn
Any ideas beyond these names? I never thought coming up with a baby name would be so little fun. I am okay with his Sydney and Alexis, but just okay. They don't "grab" me. He is okay with Elizabeth (mostly him using Liz/zie), but also not convinced. I don't want to compromise, and it doesn't seem he isn't either.
Re: Girl name help!!
Go to www.nymbler.com and type in some of his names and some of your names. I did and here are some suggestions it came up with:
- Charlotte
- Bethany
- Caroline
- Avery
- Amelia
- Elise
- Alice
- Ainsley
- Clara
What's funny is it suggested the names I didn't put in that you guys liked (Lauren, Anna, and Caitlyn!).Love Caroline/a and actually Claire. DH not so much...
I've played with that site too. It is great. Maybe I'll make DH play on it and something will strike him that I also like. He gets so stuck on a name and is relentless. I don't want to get weak...!!!
Thanks for the suggestions!!
My name is Lauren. My mn is Kimberly.
trying nymbler some more....

my names may not be your taste as they are a little more obscure:
bay
carolina (care-oh-leen-uh)
liesel (lee-suhl)
rosaline (from romeo and juliet)
more common girl names i like are:
caroline
margaret
rosemary
marguerite (a good spin on margaret that isn't too out there)
good luck, you'll agree on one eventually!
ditto nymbler...we just keep playing with it until we can agree.
Honestly, I think you and your husband while you have different names, have the same style. Fairly common without overdone, classic without being old, easily recognized but still have style.
I like all of your choices but Alexis....which is a fine name..just not for me.
Names we like that might fit your style:
Amy, Autumn, Elizabeth (you already have), Melissa, Robyn, Whitney, Julia/Julianne, Erica, Erin.
