fainting?

Has anyone fainted since they have been pregnant? Today for the first time I fainted. It was scary. But i called my doc and its all fine, she said it is normal when its hot out and what not... (as long as your belly isn't the first to break the fall.)?

Re: fainting?

  • I'm a fainter, but haven't since becoming pregnant. All I know is that if you hit your head, please please please go to the hospital. Most people fall back, hitting their heads, and can cause major issues.

  • Yes I have from fatigue and dizziness. It is scary but you did the right thing by calling doctor and if she or he is not worried I wouldn't be unless you start having different symptoms in a couple of days. I hope you don't faint again drink lots of water.
  • No fainting, just feeling light-headed after some really bad RLP's
  • Yep. I was mid-sentence in a conversation and the next thing I knew I was laying on the couch being fanned.
  • I fainted in church of all places about a month ago and I was also told it was nothing to worry about.  It was really scary and DH was completly freaked out by it.

you blood pressure is usually lower when you are pregnant which may cause light headedness and fainting. also, being dehydrated will cause fainting too. make sure you are drinking lots of water daily!

  • Came darn close to fainting, and I've never fainted in my life. I simply walked up a flight of stairs to my bedroom and felt that severe lightheadedness. I couldn't stand up straight, and was able to throw myself on my bed and recuperate. It was scary...I got the whole tunnel vison, room closing in feeling.

It was hot out that day, but seriously, just from walking a flight of stairs?? Makes one feel feeble.

I have fainted a few times since getting pregnant.  It happens when my blood pressure drops low.  My DR is not concerned unless its a daily occurence or if I hit my head or stomach!

  • I haven't fainted but come really close about 3 times with this pregnancy. I get lightheaded and have trouble catching my breath and all that good stuff. Told my Dr. about it at the last visit and he said nothing to worry about "its just your hormones." I'm beginning to think he says that about everything. Fainting=hormones, morning sickness=hormones, hangnail=hormones, papercut=hormones...ummm are your sure about those last 2 doc?
