Earths Best vs BeechNut

DD has been on Earths Best since she started solids, and she loves it.  But BeechNut had a sale so I bought a bunch (maybe 50) bottles of their food - DD is NOT a fan.  Anyone else experience dislike of BeechNut?  I did notice a lot of "extra, unpronounceable" ingredients in BeechNut, while Earths Best just has the 'food type + water', etc.

Re: Earths Best vs BeechNut

  • I have only given her EB. However, I bought a jar of beech nut peas to do a taste test of my own and I didn't taste a difference and DH actually thought BN was better! I gave DD a spoonful and she didn't seem to care (although she literally eats everything I put in front of her).  Maybe your daughter has especially refined taste!:)

Did you get the dinners? The fruits and veggies are typically just that and water.
  • DS is not a fan of Beechnut...he prefers Earth's Best and Gerber.  Beechnut has a bland flavor...

  • I thought EB was really watery and had little to no flavor. DD loves the Beechnut, it's nice and thick, and it's better priced, imo.

  • I use mostly EB, but beecnut is my next choice. I try to buy ones that don't have all the other ingredients if I can which gets harder as you get into stage 3. I am waiting on EB to go on sale again at Publix so I can stock up. I keep thinking we are almost done with baby food, but we aren't :)

  • My DS likes either. I dont buy stuff with fillers though, so all the beechnut jars i have are just the veggie/fruit/meat and water (sometimes vitamin C too but thats fine).

  • Same here. DD has always been eating EB. She also likes the gerber dha/ara choiices but she does NOT like beechnut and they are also on sale here at 20 jars for 9.99

  • It all depends on the what type food it is.  BN dinners have loads of fillers in them so I haven't even tried them.  DS doesn't seem care what brand a basic puree is. It could be homemade, gerber, EB or BN.  I genrally favor Gerber, but that is just because it is a local company and I know people who work there.  After that is EB and then BN if it is a good sale.
