No, but IMO that seems like a waste of money. we steam foods in the microwave or on the stove and then puree them in the food processor. You could also use a blender or one of those Magic Bullets.
They work great bc you can freeze them, put them in the microwave, and the dishwasher, they also stack really well.
Good luck! You really don't need that expensive gadget and at least w/a real steamer and whatnot you can do things for you and your dh. I have been steaming lots more veggies for us as well.
We don't use containers. I freeze food in either ice cube trays or muffin/cupcake trays (now that they are eatting bigger portions) and then pop the frozen cubes into freezer bags. I double bag them just to be overly cautious.
Yes, I have one. I got it as a gift and am looking forward to using it. It's BPA free and seems handy because it's all-in-one, but I agree that you can get the same results from steaming in the micro/cooking on a stove and using a food processor or blender. I think it's nice to have, but definitely not a necessity.
I have it, and have really gotten good use out of it. I agree it's not "necessary," but I know I wouldn't have kept up with the homemade baby food if I had three appliances to wash every time I make a batch intead of just one. It's really handy, cute, and doesn't take up a lot of space. I consider it a great buy, since I know that, without its convenience, we'd be using a lot more jarred food.
Re: Any have a Beaba Babycook?
I wanted it bc I thought it would be great but dh looked into it and we ended up going with a great steamer instead.
This is the steamer we got:

I love it bc I can do 3 different veggies/fruits at the same time bc the juices don't run together, they each have their own compartment.
I also have a mini food processor:

I already had this so I didn't have to purchase one.
For storage purposes I got these:
