Just put DD to bed on her back. She woke up, started screaming, rolled herself over onto her belly and fell back asleep. Should I leave her or flip her back over onto her back?
Marino has been sleeping on his belly, butt in the air, since he was 5.5 months actual age. We got an angel care monitor to help us relax about it (I just turned off the motion sensor a month ago b/c he kept rolling to the very edge of the crib and it would go off and freak us out!). Once they start rolling, there's no way to keep them off their bellies if that's their preference.
A couple weeks ago, Marino had a terrible cold and the way he sleeps was pushing all the mucus in his nose into his sinuses and making everything worse. The only way I could keep him on his back at night was to keep him in bed with me snuggled up. Poor DH was on the couch for 10 days while Marino and I snuggled in bed together;)
The first few nights my DD did this, I rolled her back to her back. But then I asked around, and everyone said that since she's rolling, it's fine to leave her on her belly - DD is definitely a stomach or side sleeper (so am i!) and it's pretty cute.
So just be sure that there's nothing in the crib that she'd put her face against too close, but she is probably old enough to roll or move her face if she needs to.
