baking soda bath?

My dd has an awful diaper rash which appears to be getting worse.  The Rn at the MD office recommended bathing her in a baking soda bath tonight, but I forgot to ask how much baking soda I should add.  What would your guess be?

Re: baking soda bath?

  • I just do a couple tablespoons per bath.

  • I use a quarter cup.  I use only this for dd and it works like a charm.

    Aw, poor baby.

Is she on antibiotics? I have found that Triple Paste is the best cream for bad rashes. Hope she is better soon!

  • I actually sprinkle about a handful of cornstarch into the bath water after I wash his hair.  It seems to help right away!

  • I did about 2-3 tablespoons in DS's bath last week when he had the horrible rash from Huggies diapers. It worked really well and seemed to give him a little relief.

    Good luck
