moms of newborns

How often is your baby nursing?  Miles has been on a 2 hr schedule since birth.  I've been trying to get him on the e.a.s.y routine (eat, activity, sleep) and was wondering what how long other newborns are going between nursing sessions. He is a big boy (11lbs at one month) so I was thinking he would be going longer than two hours fairly soon.  Logan nursed every two hours pretty much until she weaned ( at 13 mths) except for at night, she slept 12 hrs.

Thanks!

  • I forgot to mention that he is a wonderful sleeper at night.  one 6 hr stretch followed by a 2-3hr stretch.
  • At a month DS was at every 2 hours. He finally went to every three hours at about 5 months. He is now every two hours, with two night feedings.

  • DD is only 3 weeks so she's every hour/two hours except at night she goes longer.

  • Ellie is nursing about every 2 hours during the day, but first thing in the morning and again in the evening, she seems to want to nurse more often--almost constantly.  At night, she's slept as long as 5.5 hours in a stretch, but more often it's 1-3 hours.  I, too, am interested in trying the EASY thing, but it's hard b/c she falls asleep nursing all the time, and it's almost impossible to wake her back up...and then once she's awake, she wants to nurse again to get to sleep.
  • Erin goes mostly 2 hours between feedings - sometimes three if she is taking a long nap. She kicks @ss at night. She's done a 9 hour stretch but mostly does two 5 hour stretches, occassionally 6. I don't even know when Evan slept that well so she could eat every half hour all day for all I care as long as I am sleeping at night! :-) (Kidding...kind of)

  • Our sonds are almost the same exact age. Mine is 1 month, 2 weeks, and 4 days. He normally nurses every 2-3 hrs except at night. He nurses at 6.30pm, sleeps around 8.30pm, and doesn't get up again until 3am for another feeding. After that he wakes up for the day around 6-6.30am and it starts all over again.?

At his 1 mon appt he was 10lbs and now he's a little over 11 lbs.?

I think I saw where you said your son has reflux.  How is he doing?  Has the medicine helped him?  How does he sleep at night?  In his crib or bouncy seat?  My ds has to sleep in the bouncy seat or he just spits up and chokes.  I've tried to incline his mattress, but it just doesn't work!
