When can you give hummus?

I don't think we gave it to Sam until sometime after he turned one, but I'm wondering if its ok to give  earlier than that.

Re: When can you give hummus?

  • I was giving it to Preston by 10 months at least (maybe even earlier). Same thing with olives, avocado, cooked broccoli, cooked cauliflower, etc.. We were trying everything that was soft.
  • I am assuming you mean hummus? DD had it soon after she started solid foods...close to 6 months..maybe 7.

Yes, my God, was my spelling that off?!

Good to know.  I guess I was hesitant because of the tahini paste in it.  I wasn't sure if it was allergenic or not.

  • I am sure we gave it to DS before he was 1.
  • hummus is actually fine as a first food around 6 months.

yoghurt, hummus, applesauce...all just fine instead of that gross rice cereal everyone makes you feel you should give them.
