If You Take B6 and Full B-Complex

How exactly do you swing that?  What dosage of B6 do you take, and when you supplement with the full B-Complex as well, is that in addition to your PNV?  What dosage of B-Complex do you take? 

I take 200 mg of B6 with my PNV and always hear "don't supplment with B6 w/o taking the whole B-Complex"...but I'm not sure how to do that and take my PNV w/o totally ODing on B vitamins.

I take B-Complex with folic acid. I can't remember what the dosage is... I think it's 500MG. But the thing with B vitamins that's great is that you can't OD on them- they are not lipids (ones that stick to you)- they are water vitamins and anything extra that your body doesn't need, you will pee out. I don't have an exact answer for you but I take 200mg of B6 (started off at 100mg).  I take Target's PNV which contains B-complex vitamins, so I don't supplement with any additional b-complex vitamins.  My doctor instructed me to take B-6 with my pre-natal and never mentioned any additional supplements.

I take B6 200mg and Prenatals I was not aware of needing to take a BComplex as well. I will have to read up on that

You should just be sure that in that B-Complex combined with PNV you aren't taking more than 1000mcg of Folic Acid. From what I'm reading, there's no risk of OD on the other supplements, like pp said.

For the poster who mentioned not OD'ing--if you take B6 without the other Bs there can be negative side effect. Taking the other Bs along with the megadose of B6 negates the side effects. Taking one B without the others creates a deficiency issue.

No, but in TCOYF she suggests 200-500 mg of B6.

One of the sites I was on (I should have kept the address!) stated that pregnant women should not take more than the FDA recommended max of Folic Acid, which is 1000 mcg.

Is there a reason that you're taking more than just PNV?  Just curious. 

I just take a pnv.  Until a doctor examines me and determines that I should be taking more than that, I'll only take a pnv.

I have LPs on the shorter end - 11-13 days with 3-5 days of spotting beforehand.

That sounds pretty normal to me.  But what do I know, I'm no doctor.

Hm, I've only had 1 LP of 11 days in 8 months of TTC. Mine are always 8-9 sometimes 10 days.

That is why I'm taking B6. If my LPs were 11-13 I would be soo happy and I don't think I'd be taking any extra B6 like that. But thats just me.

I know 13 days is normal...11 is on the shorter end, especially with spotting starting at CD8...
