Freeze dried fruit/veggies

Costco sells some but they are from China.  The website assures that they test for pesticides but I am still very uncomfortable.  Would you buy this brand (Brothers) or spend 2x more and buy from Just Tomatoes (I am not doing organic) online.

  • We buy the Brothers All-Natural brand for freeze-dried fruit and potato chips. I feel comfortable with them. I've called their customer service... that helped me feel more comfortable, I admit--since I had the same concerns as you.

  • Do you have a Trader Joe's near you? They sell lots of freeze dried fruits (not veggies though). Personally, I buy the Just Tomatoes ones from Whole Foods, instead of the ones from Costco. I am willing to spend more on what I feel is "safer" for the kids (like food, BPA-free bottles, chlorine-free diapers, etc) and less on stuff like toys, books, clothes, etc. That's just me though...

  • Hm, I never realized those were from China.  I use them all the time.  Tongue Tied  I feel slightly concerned reading this, but not enough to stop buying them I guess.
