Boppy Question

I am trying to be creative so I thought of this idea,

Buy the 9.99 boppy slip cover and then fill it with poly fil.

Do you think this would work?

I am sure you are all thinking "how cheap is this chick?"

But any input would help....

Hmm, very creative!  But the PITA part might be when you need to clean the cover - which in my house happened quite often . . . I FF my twins and they took every.single.bottle in the boppy pillows so it was spilled & spit up on quite a bit.  I guess if you don't mind taking it all apart and putting it all together again it might be worth the cost savings.    Do you have any Once Upon a Child stores near you (or even a twins club sale)?  You might be able to score the insides cheaper there.  :-)

You could probably get away with it, but you would really have to stuff it to get the firmness of the boppy.  I might be a little worried about the safety of it (it might get too soft and baby could slump down, etc), but it could work if you had to.

Hobby Lobby sells knock-off Boppy form pillows. And TJ Maxx sells a Boppy w/slipcover for $19.99.

i would be concerned about safety - when baby gets older they might unzip it a bit and can swallow the poly fill.

if you look on craigslist, consignment shops, etc- you can usually find them super cheap.

I will check out Hobby Lobby and CL first,you definiatly have a point about it possibly being too soft.

I second TJMaxx, I got both of my boppies there. Even if you don't like the cover that comes with them, they don't have the best selection some times, you can buy the extra cover at Target or Walmart for $9.99. Getting the deal on the pillow itself is the most important thing, you can always change the covers.

I am totally cheap as well but i woudln't skimp on the boppy.  We use all three of ours on a daily basis.  I did find boppies (including covers) for $19.99 at Marshalls.  I have heard that Tjmaxx and other places like that have them at similar prices.
