The real story behind the Unicorn...

I was catching up on posts from last night, and I saw that everyone is now using the Unicorn blinkie as a good luck charm. Which is fine, but I just wanted to share the story of how it came about for those who didn't know.

About a month or so ago, there was some drama on the board about who was being snarky/mean. Kinda like what's happening now, but 100 times worse. Someone said they tested at 5dpo and then was mad b/c she was told that was stupid. Well the next day someone posted a sarcastic "tell me if I'm pregnant post" and some of us played along. Becky (who is over on SAL now) said that if you were pregnant, you would see a unicorn on your chart in the morning. She found the unicorn blinkie and those who participated put it in our siggys. The unicorn was originally a symbol of those who had a sense of humor, and had no problem being sarcastic, and acknowledged that some questions, well, were just plain dumb.

Now, I'm not trying to start the age old debate about what should/should not be said on the board. Bottom line - it's the internet. I just felt the need to share how the unicorn came about.

Yea! I'm glad to have the whole story now. I knew it had something to do with Becky and charting but didn't know the whole thing which is why my explanation was crappy last night. Ha.

so glad to hear the story again.  i had forgotten exaclty how it all went down.  jeffrae was asking yesterday and i tried to explain but as i started it wasnt coming out right. 

while i am sarcastic and i can be really snarky ( i try to control it here) i am totally using the uni for gl this cycle.  we just have to get pg sooner rather than later.  i feel like if we don't i'm going to go crazy.

Well I took the Uni out of my siggy b/c it pissed me off. #1 - it didn't work like it was supposed to, and #2 it kept throwing off my other siggy stuff. I hope it works for you though!

I didn't realize the uni was so interesting!  I really don't think it is good luck, it was just to show that you have a sense of humor and you can handle some sarcasm.  If it brings people luck, awesome, but that's not really why it was started  : )
