Babies: 0 - 3 Months

concerned - need insight

DD had her 4 month shots Wednesday morning. This time around, the fever started earlier and has been on and off and back on again this afternoon.

How long is it supposed to last? Did anyone else's LO have fever for about 3 days?

the fever has been mild and ranged from 99-100. With tylenol, it goes down a smidge or disappears, and the fever has also gone away on its own, but for some reason it's back again.

And the redness at the injection site was way worse than last time. Is the dosage at 4 months greater than at 2?

WTF - am I just crazy?

Longer than 10 days then it is concern. But if it makes you feel better call Monday.

  • Yeah.  DS had the same thing happen.  Like pp said, call the doc if it makes you feel better, though.
  • thanks jar and jaejaevee. That makes me feel better.

Everywhere I've looked online (blueshield, google) - it says call a doc if 3 days or more, so I started to panic with it being the weekend.

Thing is, her fever isn't consistently there. My mom says no biggie (plus she's teething, so who freakin knows).

Those sites also say if the redness is larger than one inch to call the doctor. It was bigger than an inch yesterday but today it's fine... So that makes me hope the fever will go away for good soon.

When left to my own devices, I can make myself crazy.

  • my baby had a fever for 3 days or so. it sucked!
