My back is killing me and I haven't slept in weeks. Dh and I agreed that when we got the $$ from my settlement that part would go to a new bed. I just tried the Sleep Number today and it seemed like a really good option for us but I was hoping to get some IRL feedback.
Thanks!

Re: Does anyone has a Sleep Number Bed?
Yeah...I've tried those and hated them.
I just sunk into them and they offered not real "support".
I LOVE my SleepNumber bed. I was just diagnosed with SPD and I'm pretty much disabled. The ability to make it soft when I need it that way and firm when I need it that way is a total godsend.
I can't imagine how much more miserable I'd be without it.
Best thing I ever bought for myself.
DH and I got a Beautyrest last year and LOVE it. We tried the sleep number and were really considering it but it was sooo uncomfortable. AND there is a big lump in the middle if you both like softer numbers - no thanks! I also did a ton of googling and found way too much scary info about mold issues with them.
On the other hand, my MIL SWEARS by here, BUT she and FIL have very different sleep numbers. DH and I were like 5 numbers off from each other so made it easy to agree on a "normal" bed - if you and DH are really different maybe it would work for you.
We will for sure check that out...but I hate having anyone touch me while I sleep so that must actually be a plus! :P
We are on our second one (upgraded to a King) and we LOVE it!!! ?It is soooo comfortable and I used to be able to read/watch TV in bed, not anymore. ?I practically instantly fall asleep
We really do love it, and I'm not just saying that because DH works for Select Comfort! ?:) ?He's been there for 5 years now. ?It's a great company.
The only time that there's a noticeable ridge (in my opinion) is if you have drastically different sleep numbers - like 10 and 90, or something... if they're not drastically different, I don't think ?you'll notice especially with the newer models.
They're very easy to put together (save your $$ on the home delivery setup fee) and if you have to move, they're way more simple to transport that a regular box spring/mattress.?
If you have any questions, feel free to let me know and I can ask my hubby!
?
How easy to set up and if I don't get the home delivery how does it get delivered?
It's pretty easy to set up; it comes with detailled instructions. ?It probably takes one to two hours to unpackage and set up, etc. ?
It comes by UPS, I think, in about 5 or 6 boxes
The home delivery service is nice though - and they will remove your old mattress for free...so that is worth something in itself.
Let me know if other questions!!?
The removal alone is worth EVERYTHING!
I have been doing research all night. This might be one of the things that I put my foot down on. I'm the one with the back pain and insomnia...he can sleep through a freight train hitting the house.
Now...do I really need the pillow?
I know I'm skipping a few of the "extras" but for some reason I want the darn pillow. lol
Woohoo! ?:) ?Let us know if you end up ordering it. ?I think they have a trial period too, and you can return it if you don't like it ~ but it may take a few nights to get used to it since it's quite different than a box spring/mattress set up.
DH has one of the pillows it ~ he won it at a work contest. ?It is nice but I am not sure it is worth the $$. ?Not that I have ever got to try it ... DH is a pillow hog!
I do really like their sheets/bedding though...they are wonderful.?
It's all part of the delivery process.
It cost us to have the delivery & removal but it is totally worth it.
