Applesauce

Do any of you not buy the baby food kind and buy the applesauce in the regular jars/cups at the grocery store?  I know they have sugar free, organic, etc.  I think it would be more economical if I could feed this to DD rather than the baby food applesauce.

  • Yes, that would be ok :)

  • Yup.  I switched to the no sugar added kind a couple of months ago.  Gee 1.69 for a big jar, or the teeny ones for almost a dollar each....hmmm.  Tastes better too - :)
  • Definitely, I do b/c it is so much cheaper.

Yep and when someone mentioned it to me, I was like 'Duh!' so much cheaper! They are the perfect portion size, too.
  • I buy the regular applesauce too.  Just read your labels carefully to make sure it doesn't have HFCS.
  • I buy the large jar of 100% natural applesauce (just apples & water) - it's WAY cheaper and lasts forever!
  • Wow, truly had yet to think of that.  I need to remember that I can think outside the box more when it comes to his food, it doesn't always have to come in little gerber jars as long as it is healthy. :) Will be doing that next time, thanks ladies.
