Curious - what is the driving age in your state?

I'm in PA and the driving age here is 16. As my son (13 y/o) rapidly approaches driving age, I can't help but wish that driving age were higher here.

  • 16 1/2 if you've completed driver's ed.  17 if not.  You also have some restrictions like not having friends in the car and driving past certain times.
  • 15 year 9 mos for a temp and 16 for the real deal, but I think they have to have a certain number of hours with an adult before they can go solo after they get their liscense

  • 16, but you can't drive w/ anyone under the age of 25 (I think) in the car for 1 year, unless they're family and you're going to or from school. They've been trying to change it to 18 for a while.

  • It's 16 but they just added a bunch of stipulations that I don't know the details of.  My mom made my brother wait until he was 17 because he wasn't mature enough yet.

  • 15 1/2 for a learners permit. 16 for a license. I think they have to hold their learners permit for 6 full months before taking the road test for a license. They added a lot of restrictions since I got my license.
