We are having new carpet replaced in our entire house. They started in the basement, and I just took a peak.... it does NOT look like the carpet color I picked. It looks like it's about 1 or 2 shades darker. It was supposed to be more white than beige.
DH is coming home to look at it now. I swear if they are laying the wrong carpet in my house it's going to be hard to control myself. Our furniture is smashed in every awkward space and DH already pulled up the carpet from the main floor, so the only floor that still has the old carpet is the upstairs. The main floor is where we spend most of our time. ![]()
Re: ruh roh
Ugh, they brought the wrong door handles when we re-did our kitchen, but luckily they looked okay.
If it is their mistake they should fix it!
it's called a kilt, he's scottish
We just finished remodeling our basement and there is really good lighting down there. There are also 3 large windows since it's a walk out basement, so there's natural light as well.
You better believe I will have them re do the whole thing if it's wrong. I just don't want to wait 2-3 more freaking weeks with no carpet and furniture misplaced all over the damn house.
When we had our carpet first installed it looked a lot more brown that it was supposed to. Once we got everything set up in the room it was the right color.
Hopefully that is the case for you!
We know the name, but all the installers have is the product ID number. Gahhhh
I had them take a strip upstairs to the living room and it looks even darker than in the basement!
First I have to say - Your ultrasound picture is one of the cutest I've seen! Your baby is just kicked back hanging out!
And yes, we knew it would look different once it was layed out, but the carpet guy told us it would look even lighter, not darker. shiiiiit.
Is it really that bad??? I mean obviously you are paying for it so you don't want to settle...but, maybe it's just overwhelming b/c the furniture isn't on top of it, and the lighting is always different in your basement vs. the store. That sucks, sorry.
edit: that sucks that it looks even darker up stairs. yikes. I hope if you need to have different carpet brought in, it doesn't take 2-3 weeks.
Thanks! It's like the baby is just relaxing reading a book or something, lol, I love it!
Uh, that really stinks that it's different than what you originally wanted, maybe after all the furniture is back it will look more like the color you picked, or maybe you will just like it better...I hope that's the case!
