For those of you that saw my post last night, I wanted to give you the update. My neighbors dog has been checked out by the vet. They did not feel it was necessary to do any x-rays but just are going to send him home with antibiotics and told them to keep an eye on one of the puncture wounds. Good news! I was so worried I didn't sleep last night but I am soooo relieved he is ok. Thanks for the vibes and support! ::smooches::
Re: My traumatic dog story update
I'm glad the other dog is ok.
How are the neighbors reacting? So sorry you had to go through this.
They are being as great as we can expect. They aren't blaming anyone, they are just happy he is ok. We couldn't ask for a better reaction. They are still kind of upset at the situation, which is expected. They are refusing to let us pay the vet bill, but we are going to keep trying. If they don't we'll get them a gift card to some place for approx. the same cost.
I'm so sorry you had to have that happen.
I know how it is to be on the other end. When I lived at home with my parents my neighbors boxers got loose and literally chaced my dog around the neighborhood. My husband (then fiance) was running and kicking the dogs because they were trying to catch my dog, and they were being very vicsious. Thank God I ran to the door and as soon as I opened it my pup was running up the stairs into the house. She was terrified shaking and had bad road rash from running through the brush and on pavment. The neighbors dog on the other hand had a broken tooth and a bloody mouth from DH's foot. And then the acehole was trying to yell at me because his dog was hurt. Needless to say we never saw their dogs again because they penned them in the fenced backyard, they had already attacked my other neighbor and tried to attack my mom in our own driveway!!
But she was Ok but it now terrified of bigger dogs. But I am glad that the pup is OK and you can relax now. It isnt completly your fault anyway!
Got it, and I replied.
Hi Lyse! I just read your post from last night. This would have totally shaken me up too. I am so glad the little guy is ok and that you are feeling better.
Your neighbors seem really nice for not even letting you pay the vet bill. I would have been so stressed out!
Im so glad that everything is ok.

Hey - just read your OP and wanted to say how sorry I am that you're experiencing this.
I'm so glad the dogs are ok and the neighbors are being wonderful. I'm sure that helps relieve a lot of the stress. Def. do/buy something nice for them if they refuse to let you pay the vet bill.
I hope your doggies are doing ok, too.
