I'm everyone...I'm not even married yet but I turn 40 in October (and we're getting married in October) so we're planning to start over the summer. 

I'm thinking of getting an ovulation monitor, which ones do you suggest?

    I love my CBEFM (Clear Blue Easy Fertility Monitor). It's easy to use and I got KU my third cycle using it. As long as you don't have long cycles (over 50 days I think), it works well.

    Welcome!  I haven't started using OPK yet, but if you haven't read Taking Charge of Your Fertility yet, you should get a copy!  We just got married last October and are planning on starting TTC in October.  I just finished the book and it's a great head start!  GL!

    I use OPKs and I chart my temps using Fertility Friend.  I like to use the cheapest OPKs I can find and then back it up with a digital (CBE smiley face kind) to make sure I got the positive.  I hate to waste the expensive ones on a negative.

    I use the CBEFM and chart using fertilityfriend.com.  So far I have been happy with both (this is my first cycle)! Good luck and welcome.  This board has been great. Spend some time reading old posts, I can't believe how much I have learned.

    I really don't have anything else to add that the other ladies haven't already said. I just wanted to say hello, welcome and congratulations on your upcoming nuptials (don't know why but I think the word nuptials is so funny, it mad me giggle)  Good luck TTC and I hope your wedding day is fabulous!

    Welcome and congrats on your upcoming wedding! We started early too- with my age (and the fact that I knew I had IF issues) it made sense to start things as soon as we got engaged.

    I don't use a monitor (PCOS makes the results screwy) but just bought the Fertile Focus tester and really like it! So far its been very easy to use, I can definately see the results and its a one time $25 bucks off of Ebay. No supplies to buy or parts to replace. Yay!

    Hi and welcome!  Congrats on your upcoming marriage.

    I also use the ClearBlue Easy Fertility monitor and love it.  I highly recommend it.  This is cycle 2 using it (I am also charting and using OPKs) and so far, so good!

    Like pp said, if you have cycles under 35 days, I'd recommend getting one.  You can find them for cheaper on Amazon.com and HerbalLoveShop.com.

    thank you everyone for your advice and well wishes.  I'm actually still on the pill so I won't be using the kit or taking my temp yet until mid June for fear I'll be too pregnant at the wedding in the off off off chance I get pregnant on the first try at my age.

    Welcome! Glad to hear you got a monitor. I have been using OPKs, and like them. Taking Charge of Your Fertility is also my very favorite book to have on hand while TTC! Hope you have a great wedding!
