when did dc start clapping?

i feel like my DD is thisclose to doing it. she kinda waves her arms together like she just about to clap but then she doesn't do it. i pretty much have been trying to to teach her but clapping all day-lol. i sing patty-cake and if your happy and you know clap your hands. i also clap when she does something good. when your dc did 1st clap were they coping you or did they just do it randomly on their own. thanks!

DS started just before his 9-month appt...like he'd done it twice.  But now, he claps all the time, especially if I say, "Yeah Finley!" and clap for him.  Of course when I want him to show-off, he won't do it so I'll clap his hands together for him, then he'll get going again.  He really started on his own 2-3 weeks ago.

7 months and I have no idea where he got it. He just started doing it one day and now he claps at absolutely everything!

DD started this past week. We showed her once & she can do it now if we just ask her to clap. It's crazy. They seem to pick up on what they want to!

DD claps for herself quite a bit but has only clapped for one other person, Daddy, once and that was yesterday.  Apparently she doesn't give praise unless you have really earned it.
