When I started on this board back in August, it wan't snarky, but it wasn't exactly puppies and rainbows either. It was welcoming, it gave me a chance to talk to women who had been through something similar, but it wasn't overly TTC-obsessed. It was fun. Lots of funny PIP wars, and LNN. But most of the regulars that were here when I started (and lots that started right after me) have graduated to SAL. Then a slew of new girls moved over, girls whose losses were quite recent, girls who were still straddling the fence between PL and TTCAL, and I think that in turn changed the vibe of this board to a more sensitive, censored, almost subdued version of what the board once was.
I think we should all accept that the board is going to change and evolve as its posters do, because let's face it, if there are no posters, there is no board. That being said, I also think that everyone should stop taking each comment, the snarky posters, and most of all themselves so seriously. So, let's all just put on our big girl panties and try to have some fun--and, you know, maybe get KTFU somewhere along the way.

Re: TTCAL-my two cents
I haven't been here or post all that often. I just came to realize that the snarkiness is actually valid.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" Philippians 4:6,7
If only you knew how I don't give a steaming pile of goat crap one way or the other.
My two cents is that I am really tired of the bi-monthly soapbox speeches about what TTCAL is/was/should be.
It's an internet board with women who've had a loss and are ready to get back in the saddle along along with some oldies who have have been around for longer than they deserve to be but have a bond with each other so stick around and help the newbies out. Period.
I was here when it started, and I still lurk here and there. It really hasn't changed that much. Just lots of new people, but that's always going to be the case.

Me loves douchtastic comments...
This
I'm agreeing with that, I'm not complaining.
Newbies on TTCAL (RPL, testing, etc...) yeah, agree
Newbies on TTC (chart, OPKs, etc...) google and GP board are your friends.
TYVM
Love your sig.
This makes sense to me.
Yes! Thank you! New....old... who gives a crap?!? We are all here for the same purpose.
agreed!
Thanks!!
Google, yes. There is definitely some more Googling that could be going on. But, if I have a question that I can't answer by googling, searching FF, etc., I'd feel more comfortable throwing it out here for people who know me to help me with it then going to a new board where I don't know anyone. That seems reasonable to me. I still think, though, that it's a public space and people should feel safe enough to ask their questions, share their comments, etc. No one has to read or reply to anything they don't want to.
Kinda missing the point here. both of ya. The board is what it is, no need to "define" what is and is not OK.
Dang it... you got me. When this stuff comes up I think people take things too seriously. I usually stay out of it for that reason. Got into it tonight, though. Okay, 'nough said.
It happens to the best of us.
I usually don't get involved with it either, I am just so tired of said posts.
You are complaining! You post every week from your soap box. I think you missed her point.

No, I get her point. She's tired of people saying what is and isn't acceptable for the board. If you scroll down, you'll see where this debate's starting up all over again between "the board is too snarky" and "the board is too puppies and rainbows," amd it's not in my post. My post says that it is what it is, suck it up, deal with it, and move on.
And no, it's not every week. I have posted twice about the state of this board lately. But I will keep my mouth shut about it from now on. Don't want drama...gives me a headache.
I'm tired of all of it.
