XP Generic Formula issues?

Nicholas is on Similac sensitive and I put him on the Target version of this. I noticed that he is spitting up more and his poops are kind of hard. So I'm wondering if it's the formula (even though the ingredients are the same on both the Similac and the Target) or if he is spitting up cause I'm giving him too much. He usually gets 4 oz, but has been soooo hungry lately (6 week growth spurt?) that I put in a little extra (like an ounce). Maybe I shouldn't? I ran out of Target formula today, and had to buy the actual Similac Sensitive at the grocery store (no time to get to Target today). So I'm gonna see what happens.

Re: XP Generic Formula issues?

  • I don't really have an answer for you. But my pediatrician had said that it is okay to switch formulas once or twice, but don't keep switching.  Maybe he just has to get used to the formula? Or maybe not....I don't know. I know I'm no help whatsoever.  But good luck!

  • I asked my pedi about generic formulas and she told me not to use them because the use an old recipe for making their milk base that is not good and she said you cannot trust where the generic formulas are made, she said that the FDA allows them all to use this old recipe for the milk base, but it isn't near as good as the way Similac or Enfamil make their base

On another note, anytime you change formulas I think you will get constipation

    Good luck
