TTC After a Loss

XP: Those who have had testing done

-->

Posted this on PL, but I thought I might get more answers here.

What sort of testing did they do? How long did it take? Were you able to find out any answers?

Just curious as I want to discuss this with my Dr at my F/U appt.

Re: XP: Those who have had testing done

  • I had a saline sonogram 2 weeks after my m/c was confirmed and it found a small polyp in my uterus.  I'm having it removed in a couple of weeks because they believe it could have contributed to my m/c's.

    I had the RPL panel done at the same time and got the results a week later.  They found I have 1 copy MTHFR.  My OB doesn't think this contributed to my m/c's but I'm having her forward the results to my RE to get his opinion.

    Also, I'm having some b/w done on CD21 to test my progesterone to see if I should go on supplements after I O.

    I think we'll be able to start TTC again in June so all of this testing has only made us skip 2 cycles, which is a good thing.  I wouldn't have wanted to try before I got AF and I think it will be good for me and my DH to have a month of downtime from the testing, etc. before trying again.

    Good luck!

    I had testing done on the tissue they collected at the d&c. it took about 3 weeks to get the results. I found out it was a chromosomal abnormality that causes the missed m/c. The geneticists determined that it's was a "fluke" of nature.

    I didn't have any testing done on myself after the d&c.

    BFP#1 missed m/c-d&c 10/27/08, BFP#2 BO-natural m/c 5/15/09, BFP#3 8/12/09-DS born 4/2010, BFP#4=TWINS-missed m/c&d/c 6/15/11, BFP#4 11/22/11- please stay with me
  • I had RPL which found nothing but that I have low progesterone and was put on progesterone suppositories from cd3 until I get my period.

    I also had by genetics and my dh's genetics tested and we are perfect:)

     We also had the "contents" fromt he D & E tested and there was not enough to test once they seperated it to send some to pathology and some to genetically test so that was discontinued with no answers.
