F/U after your loss.

Did you have a follow up after your mc/loss? I haven't had one and was curious if anyone else hasn't. Is it normal to not to f/u?

I had a 2 wk f/u after my D&C, and then a 3 wk f/u after delivery...  I have never heard of anyone not having a f/u

I had F/U bloodwork to make sure that my levels were 0. But since it was my first loss and so early on my OB wasn't worried. I actually need to have my annual check up. I am putting it off because I can't decide to go to the practice that took care of me through the mc or someone closer to the new house.

I had the b/w done until it was at 0. But they told me over the phone I can try again after a cycle or two. But they never mentioned anything about an exam.

I had a f/u after 3 weeks.

I was supposed to have a f/u but when I got there they still had me scheduled for  prenatal counseling! I had to meet with the Dr anyway because I had a YI. Otherwise, I don't think they would have done anything. They told me to wait a cycle or my body and however long I needed for my mind to start TTC again. I had a very early loss though.

And i guess my OB office sucks. I am more and more glad I made an appt with a different practice.

I had a f/u 2 weeks after my natural m/c. I've never heard of not having a f/u, but then again you did have the b/w done and they told you when you could start trying again. My f/u was basically just a quick checkup and answered any questions I had. Maybe call your doctor and see if you should have one?

I had a follow up I weeks after D&C. It was basically just an answer and question session. My OB does not follow HCG levels and they didn't do an exam. I probably could have phoned this one in. Talk to your doctor and let him/her know of any concerns you may have.

I had a natural mc, I went in for b/w and my level was below 5 so they weren't going to do anymore follow-up. But I did call my Dr. and asked a few questions after the b/w

I had a f/u 4 weeks after the d&c.  It was a quick exam and she also seemed to be interested in checking on my emotional state with a few questions.  There was no bloodwork.

I don't think that I would have been comfortable w/o the f/u.  Did you ever have a prenatal exam?

I had a f/u after my d&c.. and my ob answered any questions I had.. plus letting us know.. whenever we felt like we were ready to try again she would be there..

They wouldn't see me until 8 weeks. But I only made it to 6 weeks and m/c.

I still don't like the idea of not being seen.  For me it was reassuring to hear that my uterus was shrinking and that everything looked good.  Has your dr. said what happens when you get pg again, in terms of how soon they will see you?  If they have not given you a gameplan or will make you wait until you are 8 weeks, I might start shopping for a new dr.

I had a follow-up 2 weeks after D&C although that def cuold have been "phoned in." He told me then he wanted to see me again in another month. Not sure what that will entail. I didn't have any blood drawn either.

Yeah I started looking for a new dr after the bad experience I had with them. But haven't had much luck. They told me that it was just a fluke of nature and they don't expect me to be at a high risk for this to happen again. That was pretty much it.

I had a F/U 4 weeks after my first D&C. My doctor did a quick check, but he was honest with me that the point of the visit wasn't really the exam. It was more just to check in and see how I was doing and allow me to opportunity to ask any questions.

My F/U is 2 weeks after this D&C. This time, I have a list of questions and want to discuss our next steps for keeping me KU next time.

I had an U/S the Monday after I started a natural m/c at home to confirm that I had m/c. On the U/S they could see that I had passed everything (which I already knew). I met with the doctor that day and had a beta draw. She did not examine me, though.

Two weeks later I met with the doc again briefly and had another beta draw, but no exam. 

Two weeks after that I just went to the lab for a beta draw.

Yup, I had one a few days after the dose of cytotec.  They did a vag ultrasound to ensure my uterus was empty.

I had one about 2 weeks after my loss, but in all honesty, i didn't find much usefulness in it.  The doc did an internal exam and then asked me "so did everything pass".  I don't know, you tell me since that's what I'm here for?!?

They did check my hcgs and said they were below 100, so they were dropping fast.  That was about the only useful thing that came out of it.

On another note, when are you testing???

I did not have a follow up. MC naturally at 5w2d. I had a Transvag ultrasound that showed no tissue or sac or anything. They just said that if I didn't stop bleeding in 2 weeks to come back and hopefully they would see me pregnant soon.

 

It definielty wasn't a very positive experience. I am actually planning on using a new doctor next time just because I felt that they should have given me some more information...they never even told me to use a pad vs tampon ( i knew this from reading, but not an assumption the doctor should make )

But I also don't think that it was wierd that I didn't need to have a follow up.
