Parenting after a Loss

BFing moms, please help!

Re: BFing moms, please help!

  • Hey there!  I haven't personally been where you are, but just wanted you to know that I read the post and wish I could help:(  I have had many times where my supply has dipped A LOT and it always comes back.  Maybe just try to pump a little more often for a while to make it seem like your demand is higher?  Good luck and I hope it works out for you...

  • I wish I had some advice for you Christine, but I think others have said everything I would have. ?I hope your supply increases soon. ?Have you thought about bringing Evie's solids meals up to 3 a day? My pedi told me to do that at 6 months. ?We don't always get 3 in, but I try.

    A?

  • i posted yesterday about my supply drop.  i am finishing my first AF already and hadley is only 11 weeks.  my LC wants me pumping more often after she eats and also wants me to try domperidone, which i ordered yesterday despite my uneasiness about ordering drugs online.  i eat oatmeal every day and have been taking fenugreek for about a week or two.  i am going to start power pumping today per skat and cluessbride's suggestion.  good luck, i know the frustration....

  • Do you BF her before you feed the solids?  My pedi rec'd this.  The other girls gave good advice.  Obviously supply and demand, so nurse as often as possible.  I know DD likes to cluster feed at night, so you might try letting her do that?  Carrying her in a sling so she can nip here and there?  I hope it gets better soon.
  • I really have no advice, just wanted to wish you the best of luck :(
  • I haven't made it to 8 months yet, but I do know the frustration of having supply ebb and flow. It really seems to change day  to day and week to week, so the best advice I can give is just to nurse or pump a bit longer and let your body know that you still need more. It can take a few days to respond...I know how it feels!

Hang in there hon. You made it EIGHT months..good for you!
