Is there such a thing as too much sleep?

I know most people would kill for this "problem" ... but I am just wondering if 12.5 hours is too long for a 4 month old to sleep at night?    She doesn't usually nap too much during the day, so I'm thinking that's why?   She seems very happy, doesn't seem sick ... Should I just stop worrying and be grateful?   I hardly saw her yesterday - I picked her up at daycare at 5, and by the time we were home and changed, it was 6 and I fed her, and she promptly fell asleep, and didn't wake up until 6:30am!

  • That sounds fabulous. DD slept that long yesterday, but only 7 hours of it was during the night (and not all at once).

  • From what I've read, you should stop worrying and be grateful.  If she's happy and gaining weight you should be good.  By that age she would definitely wake if she was hungry or had any other problems.
