My little sister's honeymoon! They left Sunday out of Long Beach in SoCal (a 6 hr. drive from here...we're in NorCal) for the Mexican Riviera. My mom got a call today that the ship will not be going to Mexico now. Instead they're heading up to San Francisco for a day (which is only 2 hrs. from our house, and my sister was just there a few weeks ago, so nothing exciting or new) before returning early to Long Beach. I feel so sorry for them. Since they're getting back early (it was supposed to be a 7 day cruise), they're just going to go to Disneyland for a day and head back home. Poor kids.

awww.. that sucks.  do they get any reimbursement? have vaca insurance?  would vaca insurance cover this sort of thing???

That sucks! ?Can they get off the ship in SF and fly to Hawaii for a few days of sun and sand? ?They should be able to get a refund of the part of the cruise they're missing.

I'm not sure if they'll get some $$ back (they should IMO). The Hawaii idea is great, but they have a car waiting for them in Long Beach that's due to be returned next Sunday. Plus, I don't think they have the $$ for Hawaii. I also don't think they have insurance b/c they booked it directly through the cruiseline online, and my sister isn't all that saavy when it comes to vacations. Oh well, it will make for a fun story down the line. Plus, it sets them up for a new honeymoon/1st anniversary trip.
