I'm not sure myself, but I believe it may have something to do with a clotting factor that can cause m/c. However if your doctor does not prescribe this I would not do it. Sorry I'm not much help.
I would discuss it with your doctor though. I'm on it because I have a clotting disorder. Taking aspirin when pg is generally not recommended and can be a BAD thing. So make sure your doc would agree with it in your particular situation.
It has been discussed a lot on here today because a lot of people with clotting issues have been posting.

It helps to thin your blood to more easily supply it to the uterus and baby once you get one in there!
Or maybe it could be ok, like I said don't know the answer for sure.
I asked my dr. about it. I don't have a clotting problem that we know of, but he said that it can't hurt. In my case at least. He told me that i could continue with it throughout the pg, and that the little amount of asprin in baby asprin won't hurt the baby. You still may want to check with your dr. though, just in case!

As others have posted, it's used as part of the protocol for people with certain types of MTHFR (a clotting disorder). My OB told me it fell into the "can't hurt, might help" category so I took it with my last pregnancy (which m/c'd). I then went to an RE who said that some studies have shown it could do more harm than good for those who don't need it. Turns out, I may need it. I would ask your dr about it.
Re: maybe i am a moron
Thank you
Sorry for the dumb question.

This is what I was thinking.
