Methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) is a genetic defect that can lead to complications in pregnancy. Many people do not know that they have this defective gene until after they have had several unsuccessful pregnancies. Others may carry one pregnancy to term and not discover until afterwards that they carry the defect.

There is no cure for this, but a dr may prescribe B vitamins, folic acid, or baby asprin to lessen any risk factors.

I'm just learning about this but to add to Sweetie's post, I believe there are several different types of MTHFR and that some are problematic and others aren't.  I'm finding it all very confusing.

I have been through a lot and have been here for a long time.  I could have great advise and information to give if you guys could just ask smart questions.

For the record, none of the posts below discuss what MTHFR is, they just discuss potential solutions for it.

Not once did I say you did not belong here.  What I said was that if you have nothing to offer and you are here because you are bored and have nothing better to do or no one to talk to, FIND ANOTHER BOARD!!! 

I aplogize if I made it seem as though you didn't belong here.  I am sorry for your losses, but you are out of control.  I see some of the crap you post and it pisses me off.  I'm sure you have something to share, but you never do.
