If it's for hiking I would look into an Ergo and babywear. I'm not sure how easy any stroller will be to use when hiking. I don't think the BOB has the doubler like the P&T though.
We'll get the beco but I know we definitely would want the stroller....I would be kind of afraid of hiking while babywearing ...in case I fell...that kind of terrifies me....especially since I can be clumsy at times.

You have seen us hike with the Phil and Teds...Maybe if you feel up to it we can go again and you can push JLK...Or even just walk down the street so you can test drive it...
I prefer Bob but I have no experience with Phil and Teds. On another note though, I was in Santa Cruz for a race a week ago and saw a few people bringing their Bobs onto the sand. I hadn't tried that yet and was very impressed.
I love my Phil and Teds. I've taken it all over the place - grass, sand, gravel. It can handle just about anything. I haven't gotten to test drive a BOB in the same conditions but decided on the P&Ts because it was skinnier. I found that I could go all those crazy places with my P&T but still fit in between racks at the mall. I also love the doubler for the P&T because it doesn't make the stroller any wider.

No doubler or the Bob...just the duallie
See...I think that since the BOB doesn't have the doubler option, it is kind of out for me. I wouldn't want to have to buy another stroller if/when we have a 2nd.
And the Phil and Teds seems to work well when we go on the hikes with you guys....I was just seeing all the BOBs at the Farmers Market the other day and then read about them in baby bargains..but baby bargains does give the Phil and Teds a good grade too!
I think I like the Phil and Teds better....I wish they had it at BRU though!...Well..actually I see they do...but only in red...and I totally dislike the color red. =( I just want black.

I really really wanted the phil and teds even though I had a bob. I figured that I could put on the dualie attachment when i have #2. But then I started hearing some complaints about it. The first complaint I have been hearing is about the brake. That it isn't easy to put on and off. Also I've heard that toddler's don't like it because it makes them go back and doesn't let them sit up. Another mom who had it didn't like it because her child was too tall for the phil and teds part.
I do have the bob and although i do have to buy the duallie later I figure it's worth it. It maneuvers a lot easier. You can find the phil and teds at boutique stores??
Have you seen the Phil and Teds with the double on the back? Have you pushed it?
I saw one and "test drove" it and decided to go with the duallie BOB. If you plan to use the P and T as a double jogger it's really tough. The infant part sticks out really far- past the handle bar- making it hard to jog as your stride is essentially cut in half or you have to run out to the side.
I ended up with the BOB Revolution because it was so highly rated. I love both the single and the double (aka the Beast).
When you say "mountainy" is it paved? I am not sure either stroller would be great on non-paved terrain.

yea..Libby has one and I like it...We have taken it on our mountain hike and it works really well.
Good point about the doubler and jogging...although I really don't know how much jogging I would do..more of a hiking girl myself!

Yes the BOB is the only true jogging stroller...the P&T can work for a jogger I used it as that...but its not techinically a jogging stroller n with the doubler it makes it way harder...
