I'm lucky. I get along pretty well with mine. My MIL can be a little bit of an attention-hog, but 95% of the time she's fine. And the thing is both my DH and my BIL call her out on it and tease her constantly if she pulls anything...so really they take care of it before I even have to think about what to say. Probably the worst was during our wedding when she found out that DH picked his uncle (his Dad's brother) and his Dad to do readings at the wedding. She was upset that his Dad's side of the family got all of the "speaking roles" and that she was "demoted to a walk on part in this production". She called me at work to tell me this like a week before the wedding. As much as I wanted to tell her that I didn't veiw our wedding as a "production" (and I'm an actor for pete's sake, I know the difference) I just listened to her vent and I told her I thought DH should pick who he wanted and that's who he picked. She also wore a royal blue dress to the wedding, which was beautiful and she looked gorgeous, but my colors were light pink and burgundy. I just decided it wasn't worth it and I wanted her happy so I let it go.
Seeing as how DH played a trick on her and had "Crazy" by Patsy Cline played for the mother/ son dance (because he calls her the crazy redhead all the time) I think karma came back and bit her in the butt... lol

I like them well enough. Although, I would say that there are times they really annoy me--nothing specific, just annoying. Maybe because they are sooooo over the top with Nicholas (just one example--they 'need' to see him every week at least once). I realize it's their first and only grandchild, but still very annoying.

My IL's are certifiable! Nice enough, but both are bat-sh!t crazy.
They divorced when dh was 3, both have been remarried for well over 20 yrs and still refuse to have a single conversation that doesn't bash on the other.
We wanted a very small wedding ceremony with just immediate family and then were planning a huge medieval reception for the next day. (we rented a castle for the weekend)
His Mom invited a ton of extended family to the private ceremony, *after* we told her immediate family only and why we wanted it that way. Then his Dad (who officiated the ceremony) insisted on wearing his 'medieval' outfit to the wedding and went off on all these new-age tangents IN OUR CEREMONY!
So I was married by Dumbledore and had a ton of people at the ceremony that I had never met and dh hadn't seen in a million years just so the could 'one-up' each other. Then his Mom got pissy and left right after the ceremony, skipping the reception and rest of the weekend.
Now thats its been almost two years I can see *some* humor in it... but at the time I was livid!
MIL is awesome, so is SFIL. FIL...totally ass. But even DH agrees, so we just pretty much avoid him, which is fairly easy since he lives several states away and never calls.
I am thankful that DH gets along with my parents and I get along with his (except his Dad, which no one gets along with...)

I absolutely love my ILs.
They are very nice people and we get along very well. I am thankful for that!
